My Journey To Ayurveda

My first career was in administration, but I soon realised that something was missing and I felt unfulfilled. I took a career break and went to an orphanage in Mexico, which changed my life, and helped me to realise that in order to be happy, I need to be in a helping role. I retrained as a counsellor, which I loved for a number of years, but I felt I wanted to be able to help in more ways and I was also on my own spiritual and wellness paths. These paths led me to Ayurveda, and it was love at first sight. I had found my dharma.

I have been studying at the Ayurveda Institute UK, under the wonderful Dr Deepika Rodrigo, and this has been such a blessing. My love for Ayurvedic wisdom continues to grow the more I learn and the deeper my understanding becomes. As a result, my own consciousness and heart-centredness is enhanced.

I believe strongly in our innate ability to heal and to live healthy, fulfilled, happy and thriving lives that we can only dream of. Ayurveda provides a pathway to greater balance and alignment, that makes all of these possible in your life. It is ancient wisdom, for modern health.

What our customers say

Jamie was very welcoming and genuine with a lovely aura. She has an extensive knowledge and explained ayurveda very well. I felt it was easy to follow the plan set out for me, as it was clearly written and easy to understand. My mental health has greatly improved and continues to do so. I also have more energy and feel my digestive problems have improved drastically and I’m excited to continue the journey and to try her other ayurvedic treatments. Bryan

Frequently Asked Questions

Ayurveda is making a resurgence as an excellent way to regain health and happiness, but as it is still relatively unknown to some, I have included some frequently asked questions.

Where does Ayurveda come from?

Ayurveda is over 5000 year old wisdom that was practiced around the world, for many years, before declining in popularity. However, after we took a journey down a different path, we have come full circle back to ancient wisdom, therefore Ayurveda is gaining popularity in the West as well as in the East where it originated.

What is Ayurveda?

Ayurveda is an ancient Indian healing system. It is similar to Traditional Chinese Medicine in that it uses diet, lifestyle and herbs in its approach to healing. It’s literal translation is the science of life, or knowledge on living life well.

What is the initial consultation?

in the initial consultation, we will have about 90 minutes to discuss your current health concern and I will ask some questions to determine your current state of health and previous factors that may be contributing. I will have a thorough picture and will go away and create a treatment plan before we meet again

What happens in the follow up consultation?

We will meet again to go over the treatment plan and discuss the dosha imbalance and the dietary and lifestyle changes required to bring you back into balance and any herbs and how to take these. This is also an opportunity for you to answer any questions that have arisen since we last met, or any questions regarding the plan.

What happens next?

We will meet again in three weeks time to discuss your progress and consider any changes required. However, I am available to answer any questions between sessions. There is also an option to arrange for weekly counselling for bigger emotional issues that need to be processed
